The Vehicle
The Bug-E kit has been significantly modified to meet the needs of
the Fun Run. A Fat Boy Harley Davidson rear tire will provide a
smoother ride as will the improved front two tires and better shocks
than came with the kit. Disc brakes replaced the drum brakes. The
chain drive was replaced with a quieter, cleaner belt drive.
A Solar Trailer will be constructed and pulled behind the Extreme Bug-E as a range extender.

The Puppy
Rex,
the miniature Dachshund, will accompany Charlie, on the lap. Travels
with Charlie, by Rex the Puppy, will be a children’s book version
of the FunRunintheSun. Written with some help from Charlie, Rex’s
pet. Rex is formally Tyrannosaurus Rex or T.Rex for short. Very short
in his case. His ground clearance is one inch. Be careful on speed bumps!
Height at shoulder, 4 inches. Weight 10 pounds full grown. Wags more
than he barks. Wag-o-meter, 2 wps. Top speed: fast. Rex appeal: very
cute. Color: auburn. Ears: floppy.
Lead Vehicle
Jerry Asher will be driving the lead vehicle in his Plug-In Prius ()
built by Mike Harvey ( Jerry drove his Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle
(PHEV) all across America (3A) during 2008-09. The vehicle goes by the
name The Spirit of DC (www.spiritofdc.com).
