Some thoughts on those who have made a difference.

Jerry Asher - Sergeant Major, US Army, retired. Full time Electric Vehicle (EV) activist/promoter. Jerry has given gobs of his time to the EV cause, but this last year 2008-09, Jerry and his team, including me, have staged the Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) All Across America(3A), see www.phev3A.com, educational tour, educating people about PHEVs one town at a time.  Jerry has given a whole year of his time and thousands of dollars of his own money to pay for expenses.  Our FunRunintheSun trek is inspired by Jerry and Louis Palmer of www.solartaxi.com who traveled around the world in his three wheeled all-electric vehicle with a solar trailer pulled behind it.  Both Jerry and his team and Louis and his team have shown the way for me to consider an all electric, all solar educational tour of the country. 

Louis Palmer is from Switzerland.  He stayed with Charlie in Silver Spring, MD for four days while Louis was in the Washington DC areas visiting the Swiss Embassy, holding press conferences, etc. Louis’ EV with solar trailer went east from Switzerland through the Middle East, through India, down to Australia aboard a Greenpeace ships, back to China, Korea and then over to Canada and the US.  After crossing the US, he took another boat back to Europe where he gathered even more publicity for EVs and solar and stopping global warming.

Dave Goldstein, our President of the Electric Vehicle Association of Greater Washington, DC, www.evadc.org, has given countless hours to the EV cause over the last three decades or more and lots of his own money to attend conferences and keep our EVADC chapter alive and humming.  He has helped EV owners re-build or repair their vehicles and is an accomplished mechanic.
