Help Charlie and his Journey across the US to promote solar energy and clean electric vehicles Volunteer Help spread the word about Charlie's journey. Contact whatever civic groups (garden club, PTA, science club, bowling team, solar group, environmental organization, electric car club) you are part of and get them to send out emails or include an article about the FunRunintheSun.org in your newsletter. Ask them to tell their members spread the word to friends and family. Go viral.
Then take the next step and help to generate publicity when the FunRun comes to your town. Take the sample Press Release and change it to match your town's offerings and run it by all the local media. Ask the Mayor or other officials to take a ride and give the FunRun the keys to the City. Host an awards ceremony or announce a new group forming in your town to see about getting new green stimulus funds. Or some other news-making activity, like a parade of bicycles, electric cars or motorcycles [the back tire is a Harley Fat Boy - - maybe the local motorcycle crew could join us. How about a party at your house, or the local library, inviting over 20 friends for the slide show?
Lodging
It would be a great help to line up lodging for Charlie and the Puppy, and EVJerry. Please contact us if you can help in that regard. We aren't proud. A spare bedroom or a couch. How about two poles that Charlie can tie his string hammock to? It is also great if you have solar or wind power to charge up on at night. If not, any wall socket will do to help charge the batteries. If you don't have room, try asking a local hotel for free lodging in return for web thank-yous. Many hotel/motels are looking for ways to get favorable publicity. Swimming pools and hot tubs never refused!
Food
We can always use donations for food when we come to visit your town. Home-cooked and locally grown is best, but we aren't snooty. The puppy carries his own dog chow. Hey, we're guys. We eat anything! Within reason! See our Stay Fit section
